Social Status Differences in Stress-Related Behaviors. During the Experimental phase socially subordinate females received more aggression (F[1, 34] = 22.2, p < 0.00001*****), were groomed less (F[1, 34] = 5.33, p = 0.027**), and spent more time fearfully scanning their enclosure (F[1, 34] = 6.62, p = 0.015**) than their dominant counterparts. There were no significant effects of diet or diet by social status interactions on these behaviors (all p's > 0.10).
