Correlations between AGEs and BMD. The correlation coefficients of (A) urinary PEN and (B) serum CML for lumbar BMD were 0.048 (P = 0.32) and − 0.180 (P < 0.001), respectively, and those of (C) PEN and (D) CML for hip BMD were − 0.017 (P = 0.72) and − 0.072 (P = 0.13), respectively. AGEs advanced glycation end products, BMD bone mineral density, PEN pentosidine, CML carboxymethyl-lysine.
