ALKBH5 Was Downregulated in Bladder Cancer Tissues and Cell Lines and Served as a Prognostic Factor in Bladder Cancer

(A) Relative expression of ALKBH5 mRNA in the 28 pairs of bladder cancer tissues and matched adjacent normal tissues quantified by qRT-PCR. ALKBH5 was downregulated in bladder cancer tissues compared with that in adjacent normal tissues (p < 0.01). (B) The expression of ALKBH5 protein in 8 pairs of bladder cancer tissues (T) and adjacent normal tissues (N) by western blot were shown. (C and D) Relative expression of ALKBH5 in bladder cancer cell lines and immortalized normal bladder epithelial cell line SVHUC-1 by qRT-PCR and western blot. Data represent the mean ± SD from three independent experiments, ∗p < 0.05. (E) IHC analysis of ALKBH5 in bladder cancer tissue at 200× magnification. (F) Kaplan-Meier survival curves of overall survival in 161 bladder cancer patients based on ALKBH5 by IHC staining. The log-rank test was used to compare differences between two groups (p = 0.036).
