(A) Release profile of FITC-labeled PLL over 28 days (expressed as total amount released at each time point). * represent statistically significant difference (p < 0.05) to the PLL release percentage at day 1 within the same study group (n = 3 per time point, mean ± standard deviation). There were no statistically significant differences (p > 0.05) between the groups (250 and 750 µg/ml) within each time point. (B) Epifluorescence microscopy images of hydrogels loaded with FITC-labeled PLL. Same exposure settings were used within each study group to image hydrogels at all time points.
