Effect of Hex on the internalization and localization of the EGFR. Caco-2 cells were incubated with 10 μM Hex for 30 min at 37 °C and subsequently in the absence/presence of EGF (10 ng/ml) for 10 and 20 min. Cells were fixed, permeabilized, and incubated with antibodies for EGFR (green fluorescence) and LAMP1 (red fluorescence). Nuclei were stained using Hoescht 33,342 (blue fluorescence). Confocal images were acquired. Yellow fluorescence indicates co-localization of EGFR and LAMP-1. .
