Metformin prevents trauma‐induced HO in mice. A. Mice received Achilles tenotomy on the right hindlimb and burn injury on the dorsum. The next day, they were injectedi.p.with vehicle (PBS) or metformin every 3 days for 8 weeks (vehicle, n = 6, metformin, n = 5). The injured limbs were examined by microCT at 8 weeks post‐injury.
