Sleep disturbances may facilitate SARS-CoV-2 infection in shift-workers. Illustrative scheme shows that shift workers present pro-oxidant/anti-oxidant imbalance, inducing oxidative stress and elevating the levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS), as well as a reduced immunological memory, and increased exposition to allergens. They also present a pro-inflammatory state and, mostly, sleep disturbances, which may facilitate SARS-CoV-2 infection.
