Changes in relative ceramide (CER) content related to the internal standard of each ceramide class within CER[NDS] and CER[NS] classes in keratinocytes isolated from the skin of control rats (Control) and rats irradiated with UVA (increasing doses from 0.5 to 5 J/cm2 for 4 weeks). These cells were not treated or treated with CBD (2.5 g CBD in 100 g petrolatum) panel (A); the skin of control rats (Control) and rats irradiated with UVB (increasing doses from 0.02 to 2 J/cm2 for 4 weeks). These cells were not treated or treated with CBD (2.5 g CBD in 100 g petrolatum) panel (B). The following groups of keratinocytes were examined: Control, CBD, UVA, UVA + CBD, UVB and UVB + CBD; values are mean ± SD, p < 0.05; (a), CBD vs. control; (b), UVA vs. control; (c), UVA + CBD vs. control; (d), UVB vs. control; (e), UVB + CBD vs. control; (x), UVA + CBD vs. UVA; (y), UVB + CBD vs. UVB.
