The overlap between IBS and NCGS. Disorders of gut–brain interaction (DGBI) include several disorders [95] affecting the gastrointestinal tract in which the gut–brain axis has a role in symptom generation. Among gluten-related disorders (GRD), NCGS is completely distinct from the other conditions including celiac disease (CD), gluten ataxia (GA), dermatitis herpetiform (DH), and wheat allergy (WA). NCGS is partially overlapped to IBS for symptoms, although there are also some differences. NCGS is characterized by a greater incidence, although not to the same extent as CD, of anemia, weight loss, low body mass index, atopy, osteopenia and osteoporosis compared to IBS.
