Determining protein interactions in their native environment. The determination of the structure of a protein (blue) complex in its cellular milieu necessitates the combination of many techniques at different scales. Capturing complexes in their native environment is essential to fully understand their role in the cell (yellow) and the interactions that exist with other cell components (e.g another protein (red) or a scaffold (green)) leading to alternate ultra-structures and functions.
