C57BL/6 and db/db mice were transferred to methionine and choline sufficient (Control) or methionine and choline deficient (MCD) diet at day 0 and they were injected every 48 hours with PBS buffer, 1866, or DANA. At A) 20 days C57BL/6 and C) 27 days db/db mice were fasted overnight and then received an i.p. injection of glucose (1.5 g/kg body weight), and tail vein blood samples were assessed for glucose at the indicated times. B and D) Glucose tolerance over 120 minutes was assessed by area under the curve analysis. In A, † indicates p < 0.05 comparing C57BL/6 mice on control and MCD diet (t-test), * indicates p < 0.05 comparing C57BL/6 mice on MCD and MCD+DANA (t-test).
