Figure 1

Effect of the combination of indomethacin and vitamin D on CEA and PDGF levels in all experimental groups. (A-C) The expression of CEA, PDGF and β-actin were determined by western blot technique in all groups. The expression levels of CEA and PDGF were increased markedly in the carcinogenic group, while its levels were decreased in the prophylactic group and treated group (with vitamin D and indomethacin) and 5-FU groups. (D) Quantification of the expression of CEA in all experimental groups. (E) Quantification of the expression of PDGF in all experimental groups. Results are expressed as means ± SEM of three separate times. ***P<0.001 and **P<0.01, significant difference compared to the control group. CEA, carcinoembryonic antigen; PDGF, platelet-derived growth factor; 5-FU, 5-flurouracil.
