Figure 1

TNA treatment ameliorated neuronal loss and promoted neurological functional recovery after TBI. (A) Neurons were determined by Nissl staining. Many normal neurons (arrows) were detected in Sham group. TNA-treated mice had much more neurons on day 7 compared with NS-treated or TNA+ICI-treated mice (*P < 0.05, **P < 0.01). (B) NSS score on day 0, 1, 3, 5 and 7 after treatment. In Sham group no neurological deficit was found. Compared with NS-treated mouse, TNA-treated mice had less severe symptoms from day 3 after treatment (*P < 0.05, **P < 0.01). Compared with TNA+ICI-treated mice, TNA-treated mice also showed better recovery from day 5 (#P < 0.05). TNA+ICI-treated mice did not recover better than NS-treated mouse within 7 days.
