A model showing that the conventional inhibitors of synaptic vesicle exocytosis affect the exocytosis of postsynaptic AMPA and NMDA receptors. A vacuolar H+-ATPase inhibitor, Baf.A1, blocks the functional surface expression of neuronal postsynaptic AMPA and NMDA receptors. In addition, vesicle fusion blockers, such as BotoxB and TeTX, inhibit the functional surface expression of neuronal postsynaptic AMPA and NMDA receptors. For details, see the main text.
