1

Disease X is a previously unrecognized disease, which could first emerge in Ireland.

2

Weighted average was calculated using reverse scoring, for example if a disease was ranked as 1st place then the weight was 10. If a disease was ranked in 10th place the weight was 1. The average of these weights were used in the calculation of importance.

3

Calculation of importance, this is a product of frequency of response multiplied by weighted average.
