Butyrate increased bactericidal activity of macrophages through activation of HIF-1α. Error bars are presented as mean ± SD. (C, D) HKMs were treated with NaB (1 mM) plus DBA (C, n = 6) or chrysin (D, n = 3) for 24 h, and the gene expression of lysozyme was detected. (E, F) HKMs were incubated with NaB (1 mM) plus DBA (E, n = 7) or chrysin (F, n = 7) for 24 h, and lysozyme activity was assessed.
