Formoterol (form) restores glucose-altered mitochondrial fission/fusion proteins in db/db mice. Diabetic db/db and control (ctrl) db/m mice (10 wk of age) were treated with either vehicle (veh; 0.1% DMSO) or formoterol (1 mg/kg) daily for 3 wk. Kidneys were harvested, and protein was extracted from renal cortical tissue. A−D: immunoblot (A) and densitometry analysis of phosphorylated (p) dynamin-related protein 1 (Drp1) S637 to total Drp1 (B), mitofusin 1 (Mfn1; C), and mitofusin 2 (Mfn2; D).
