Effects of Rk1 and Rg5 on translocation of NF-κB and activation of ERK by TGF-β1. A. A549 cells were treated with Rk1 or Rg5 and treated with TGF-β1 for 48 h. Protein levels of NF-κB translocation from cytosol to the nucleus was assessed using Western blotting using α-tubulin as cytosolic markers. B. A549 cells were incubated with TGF-β1 (5 ng/mL) or with TGF-β1 (5 ng/mL) and Rk1 or Rg5 for 48 h. The cells were harvested and then lysed. Phosphorylation of ERK was analyzed by Western blotting using ERK as loading control. ∗∗p < 0.01, ∗p < 0.05 versus control and ##p < 0.01 #p < 0.05 versus TGF-β1 treated control. The data are expressed as mean ± SD for triplicates.
