The Hap1 and Snf1 signalling pathways are required for TIF51A induction under respiratory conditions. (a) Growth of the WT, hap1∆, snf1∆, msn2∆ and hap4∆ strains on YEP medium plates containing 2% glucose or 2% ethanol. (b,c) The WT, hap1∆, snf1∆ and msn2∆ strains were grown in YEP medium containing 2% glucose, 2% glycerol or 2% ethanol to the exponential phase (OD600 of 0.5). Relative TIF51A (b) and SDH1 (c) mRNA levels were determined. The results are shown as the means ± SD of three independent experiments and expressed in relation to the value for the 2% glucose condition. Statistical significance was measured by a Student’s t-test in relation to the 2% glucose condition or WT. * p < 0.05, ** p < 0.01, *** p < 0.001.
