DNA samples with a PCR-positive result using the LSI VetMax Triplex real-time PCR were quantified using the ParaTB Kuanti-VK kit. qPCR results are expressed as MAP DNA copies per gram of feces or tissues × 102. Bacterial load was classified as low (< 10 CFU), medium (between 10 to 50 CFU) or heavy (> 50 CFU).
