The arrow thickness indicates the relative density of projections to the different V1 layers (L4A is omitted). For all stripe types, layers 1/upper 2 and 5/6 receive the densest FB projections, while lower L2 and L3 receive sparser projections from V2. Both thick (blue arrows) and pale (green arrows) stripes, but not thin (red arrows) stripes send FB projections to V1 L4B. FB projections from thin stripes predominantly target the V1 CO blob columns, while FB projections from thick and pale stripes predominantly target the V1 interblob columns.
