Changes in VE during 33 Hz stimulation were inversely related to the stimulation threshold to evoke reflex EMG activity. In some cases stimulation testing, which was always conducted at 3 times threshold (3 T), led to direct (< 1 ms latency) external anal sphincter (EAS) EMG activation (indicated by outlines around markers).
