The null hypothesis is that there are no ExSep events. That is, that there are no genetic variants that become independent of the outcome when adjusted for the exposure. An arrow represents an ordered pair with evidence for causal interaction with a significant MS test p-value even at 1% FDR adjustment. The MS-test does not report the direction of the causal effect, but can be significant even if the causal interaction is not linear. All links in the figure were not discovered by the MR analysis at 10% FDR adjustment, and are thus not in Fig. 5.
