Odaph Expression in Odaph^+/+ Day 12 Mandibular Incisors. In the continuously growing mandibular incisor enamel formation progressively advances from basal (left) to incisal (right). (D) On the left the ameloblasts were ending the secretory stage. Approximately midway through image (D), they entered post-secretory transition (PST) where the ameloblasts normally shorten while converting to ruffle-ended maturation stage ameloblasts. Note that Odaph expression is observed at the onset of PST. (E). Early maturation ameloblasts were positive for Odaph expression. No significant Odaph signal was detected in odontoblasts.
