The effect of colon cancer-associated transcript-1 (CCAT-1) on the mRNA expression of glycolytic enzymes in colon cancer cells cultured under different glucose concentrations. The mRNA expressions of LDH-A (t=15.107, P=0.004), PKM2 (t=23.705, P=0.002), and HK2 (t=26.484, P=0.001) in the LG-CCAT-1− group were significantly lower than those in the LG-EV group. The mRNA expressions of LDH-A (t=9.018, P=0.012), PKM2 (t=9.005, P=0.012), and HK2 (t=9.139, P=0.012) in the HG-CCAT-1− group were significantly lower than those in the HG-EV group. Furthermore, the mRNA expressions of LDH-A (t=8.728, P=0.013), PKM2 (t=14.073, P=0.005), and HK2 (t=17.395, P=0.003) in the HG-CCAT-1− group were significantly higher than those in the LG-CCAT-1− group; the mRNA expressions of LDH-A (t=3.582, P=0.070) and PKM2 (t=4.012, P=0.057) in the HG-EV group were significantly higher than those in the LG-EV group. LG-EV, empty vector transfected colon cancer cells cultured with low glucose; LG-CCAT-1−, CCAT-1 silenced colon cancer cells cultured with low glucose; HG-EV, empty vector transfected colon cancer cells cultured with high glucose; HG-CCAT-1−, CCAT-1 silenced colon cancer cells cultured with high glucose.
