Representative images of misdiagnosed cases. One idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) case with enlarged Sylvian fissure and strong atrophy of the hippocampus was misdiagnosed as AD (a). Another iNPH case showing typical disproportionately enlarged subarachnoid-space hydrocephalus was misdiagnosed as HC (b). Three apparently typical AD cases with strong hippocampal atrophy were misdiagnosed as iNPH (c) and one typical AD case was misdiagnosed as HC (d). One HC case without hydrocephalus was misdiagnosed as iNPH (e).
