In lentigo maligna melanoma, large pleomorphic cells in spinous layer (arrow, c) and melanophages below dermal–epidermal junction (arrow, d) are marked. In superficial spreading melanoma, nest of atypical cells (arrow, e) and round pagetoid cells (arrow, f) in the epidermis are marked.
