MaR1 reduced Aβ42‐induced cell death. Differentiated THP‐1 (d‐THP‐1) cells were incubated for 24 h with vehicle or with 5 μmol/L Aβ42 alone or together with 1, 2 or 5 μM MaR1. The cell culture supernatants were collected and 11 experiments were performed. Analysis by LDH assay showed an increase in cell death after incubation with Aβ42 (P < 0.0001). The co‐incubation with 5 μM MaR1 resulted in a reduction in Aβ42‐induced cell death (P < 0.05). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed with a the non‐parametric Kruskal–Wallis (K‐W) test, using the built‐in post hoc test for multiple comparisons to find significant differences between treatments. *P < 0.05 vs. vehicle. ### P < 0005 vs. 5 μMAβ42.
