Emotion versus gender evaluation. (a) Supramodal networks. Besides some modality‐specific patterns such as fusiform face area for facial stimuli (red), emotion evaluation—as compared to gender evaluation—invoked a modality‐independent network in bilateral anterior insula, right inferior frontal gyrus (IFG), and pre‐supplementary motor area (SMA) (a; purple).
