In sepsis, NF-κB is activated to induce the production of proinflammatory cytokines for inflammation and AKI. However, upon activation, NF-κB may also inhibit the expression of miR-376b in renal tubular cells, leading to the induction of NFKBIZ, which provides a negative feedback mechanism to suppress NF-κB.
