Gene losses in Portiera lineages and their MRCAs. Posterior probabilities for the presence of the different genes in the MRCAs were obtained with COUNT. The colored sidebar in the left represents the Clusters of Orthologous Groups (COG) category assigned to each protein encoded by a lost gene. Replication and repair (L category) gene losses are accumulated in the lineage leading to Singhiella simplex and Bemisia tabaci (MRCA D). MRCAs nodes are the same as in figure 4. The genes (rows) dendrogram was computed using a binary distance and the ward.
