RNA methylation process. Multiprotein complex writers are responsible for introducing the methyl group on adenine in position 6. Erasers remove the methyl group while readers recognize the presence of m⁶A methylation and induce processes, such as mRNA splicing, mRNA translation, mRNA stability, nuclear export of mRNA and miRNA biogenesis.
