Structures of nine signaling lymphocytic activation molecule (SLAM) family receptors. The extracellular regions contain IgV (V)- and IgC2 (C2)-like domains. The receptors bind to self-ligands with high affinity through the IgV-like domain. In all family members except for SLAMF2, SLAMF8, and SLAMF9, the cytoplasmic tail contains an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based switch motif (ITSM).
