Sex-dependent changes in blood glucose levels. Control glucose levels were different (lower) in male rats, compared with female rats only at the 16th and 17th months (A). KEMCT treatment-generated blood glucose levels were significantly lower in female than male rats at the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, and 8th months, but it was higher at the 17th month (B). Differences between KEMCT-evoked glucose levels and control glucose levels did not show significant alterations between sexes (C).
