The effect of curcumin and FOLFOX in a BGC-823 nude mice xenograft tumor model. (A) The body weights of the curcumin-treated mice were indistinguishable from those of saline controls, whereas FOLFOX treatment reduced body weight (p < 0.01). (B) Treatment was administered intraperitoneally when BGC-823 cell tumors (subcutaneously in the flank) reached an average volume of 200 mm³. Semiweekly assessment of tumor volume showed that administration of curcumin, FOLFOX, and curcumin plus FOLFOX groups inhibited BGC-823 tumor growth in nude mice. *p < 0.01 compared with another group.
