Changes in twitch tension from Fig. 5 B in the main text (black line) by ±40% variation in baseline rate from the PS, ${\mathit{k}}_{\mathbf{P}\mathbf{S}}^{\mathbf{o}}\mathbf{.}$ Increases in $k_{PS}^o$ increase the resting muscle tone and the peak of the twitch tension, and the relaxation is slower and slightly delayed.
