Experimental design. (a) The Swiss mice were divided into three groups: control (CTL), fed a chow diet; HFD ‐ fed a high‐fat diet for 8 weeks and HFD‐EXE ‐ fed a high‐fat diet for 8 weeks and were subjected to an acute exercise protocol. (b) The HFD‐EXE animals underwent a treadmill adaptation period and then performed an incremental load test. Two days after the incremental test, the animals were submitted to the acute physical exercise protocol, which consisted of three 45 min exercise sessions with 15 min intervals between each session.
