The major challenge for constructing connectome atlas is that brain network (b) has an irregular data structure (often encoded in a graph), which is much more complicated than regular data representations such as an image lattice (a). To address this challenge, we introduce diffusion distance (c) to characterize the network connectivity, which also allows us to embed the brain network to the Euclidian space.
