Figure 2. ERK7 overexpression inhibits lipid biosynthesis.

Figure 2

  1. Fatty acid composition of total lipids in CG>control and CG>ERK7 larvae, measured by gas chromatography (N = 3 replicates of 15 larvae/replicate for each genotype).
  2. Schematic presentation of biosynthesis of fatty acids and their likely chain shortening by peroxisomal partial β‐oxidation.
  3. Amount of glucose‐derived [13C]‐labeled carbons incorporated into the TAG pool of control and CG>ERK7 fat bodies (N = 3 replicates of 15 fat bodies/replicate for each genotype and diet).
  4. Ectopic ERK7 expression in the fat body results in elevated hemolymph glucose levels (N = 3 replicates of 15 larvae/replicate for each genotype).
  5. Circulating glucose levels are decreased in ERK7 1 mutants (N = 4 replicates of 15 larvae/replicate for each genotype).

Data information: N stands for the number of biological replicates. Error bars display standard deviation (SD). *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001 (Student’s t‐test).
