Runtime, peak RAM, and disk use in GATK4 (Java/Intel mode) vs. elPrep 5 (sfm mode). elPrep executes the pipeline 8.5 to 16x faster than GATK4, depending on the haplotype caller mode used in GATK. elPrep uses only 70% of the peak RAM and disk use that GATK uses. All elPrep outputs (BAM, VCF, and metrics) are identical to the output GATK (Java) produces.
