Average bispectral index (BIS) values were calculated from all 20 patients in the centrifuged samples group. Case average age-adjusted minimum alveolar concentration (aaMAC) was calculated for those patients who received an inhaled anesthetic for more than half of the case; N = 11 patients in the centrifuged samples group. American Society of Anaesthesiologists scores (ASA) are presented as percentages of non-centrifuged patient samples and centrifuged patient samples. Hospital length of stay (LOS) values are listed in days.
