ES-2 tumor implantation repressed transcription of v-rDNA III and IV without affecting the expression of v-rDNA I, II, and VI (A). Selective v-rDNA downregulation was confirmed by comparing v-rDNA expression from 3-day overloaded muscle where mechanical loading increased expression of v-rDNA I, II, and IV with no change in v-rDNA III and VI. v-rDNA V and VII are not expressed in skeletal muscle.
