Figure 2. Group-level Consistency in Neural Activation.

Figure 2.

(Top) Whole-brain one-sample t-tests for the FACES-SHAPES contrast for T1 and T2 overlaid on the MNI152_T1_2009c T1-weighted anatomical template brain in neurological orientation (i.e., left is left). Maps are thresholded at p < .01 and cluster-corrected at 1537 voxels based on multiple comparisons correction (α < .05, corrected). Color-scheme for task-related activation is such that red is lower signal change and yellow is higher signal change for FACES-SHAPES (see color bars for t-values). Note that there were no significant clusters that showing greater activation for SHAPES compared to FACES. Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) coordinates for each slice displayed are as such: axial (z = −16), coronal (y = −5), left sagittal (x = −39), right sagittal (x = 38). (Bottom) Scatter plots of group mean PSC values for the 36 anatomical ROIs and the nine functional ROIs from T1 and T2 that include a line of best fit and subsequent R2 value.
