(A) We seeded the right ventral anterior insula (vAI) to test whether stronger intrinsic connectivity between vAI and right pregenual anterior cingulate cortex (pACC) was related to greater emotional reactivity across the sample (n = 37). (B) Results indicated that stronger vAI – pACC connectivity was associated with greater emotional facial behavior when controlling for age, sex, scanner type, diagnosis, and time interval between the MRI and emotion assessment (pFWE < .05).
