Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) amounts (pg mg⁻¹ prot) released by Caco-2 cells. Cells were treated for 24 h with 100 μg ml⁻¹ of Raw-BCP, Unstarted-BCP, and Started-BCP. A set of samples was stimulated with the cytomix (LPS, 10 ng ml⁻¹; TNF-α, 50 ng ml⁻¹; and IL-1, 25 ng ml⁻¹) in the last 18 h. Levels of PGE2 released by the untreated cells (negative control) and by cells treated only with the cytomix (positive control) were also reported. Data are the means (±SD) of three biological replicates analyzed in triplicate. Bars with different superscript letters are significantly different (p < 0.05).
