Transepithelial electric resistance (TEER; Ohms × cm²) of Caco-2 cells. Cells were treated for 24 h with 100 μg ml⁻¹ of Raw-BCP, Unstarted-BCP, and Started-BCP. A set of samples was exposed to a mix of inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, 25 ng ml⁻¹; TNF-α, 50 ng ml⁻¹; and IFN-γ, 50 ng ml⁻¹) in the last 18 h. TEER levels of the untreated cells (negative control) and cells treated only with the cytomix (positive control) were also reported. Data are the means (± SD) of three biological replicates analyzed in triplicate.
