Figure 1.

Examples of the effects of Ang-(1–12) on steady-state LV P-V loops (A) and LV PES-VES relations (B) from one normal control rat and one rat after HF.

A. In normal rat, Ang-(1–12) administration caused no marked changes on the P-V loops. In contrast, after HF, Ang-(1–12) produced a rightward and upward shift of the P-V loop with marked increases in LV Pmin and PED, indicating impaired LV diastolic performance.

B. In normal, Ang-(1–12) caused a leftward shift of PES-VES relations with increased slopes, indicating increased LV contractility. After HF, Ang-(1–12) caused a rightward shift of PES-VES relations with decreased slopes, indicating decreased LV contractility.
