Methodological steps included synchrotron sourced infrared microspectroscopy to measure bone mineral composition, histomorphometry to estimate Haversian canal densities (red dots), and laser confocal scanning of bone topography to provide a qualitative illustration of intra-cortical bone porosity producing trabecularisation.
