The proposed hypothesis of viral control mechanisms in EC

A summary of our findings that might contribute to viral control. EC showed a physiological state of antioxidant defense and low systemic inflammation except for increased plasma levels of CCL4, CCL7, CCL20, and NOS3. Chemokine receptors CCR2 and CCR6 were downregulated on lymphocytes in EC. The acylcholine levels in plasma samples of EC were increased. Arrows depicture known relations between features. The red line illustrates conflicting findings. Broken lines with arrows represent hypothesized relations between features that need to be investigated in future studies.
