aRT2-profilers used were oxidative stress and mitochondrial energy metabolism (mito. energy) and each array included 84 genes.

bFold change (2-ΔΔCt) is the normalized gene expression (2-ΔCt)) at d 23 divided the normalized gene expression (2-ΔCt) at d 14. Fold-change values greater than one indicates a positive- or an up-regulation and values less than one indicate a negative or down-regulation.

cThe p values are calculated based on a Student’s t-test of the replicate (2-ΔCt) values for each gene from NBW piglets of both ages.

dThe FDR is the False Discovery Rate adjusted p-values.
